Life after Breast Cancer
It's been a rough season of life, to say the least! -OOF- And I'm so excited to share with all of you, that it's finally come to an end! *the crowd roars*
I can't describe how grateful I am for every single one of you for the love and support while our family when through all of this. But, the least I can do is say thank you, so THANK YOU!
We went through a scary diagnosis of ductal breast cancer beginning of summer in 2019, underwent a double mastectomy, started the reconstruction process with expanders, and when we finally were going to go through my final reconstruction surgery, COVID-19 hit the world!
So, our final surgery got pushed back, and again, until just recently where I was finally able to undergo my last reconstruction surgery and have some semblance of a normal body (whatever that means, amirite? lol). The road was long, it was bumpy, and I dealt with much more than just physical issues. The depression that came with this journey was the worst I've ever had to deal with, and I'm so grateful I didn't have to go through it alone (huge thanks to my awesome partner) or I wouldn't be here today to be able to share this win with you all.
I'm finally getting back to work (the studio is staying closed as of right now, but I'll be scheduling photo sessions again and taking it slow). I can't wait to get back to where I can be back in the studio daily, but for now I'll enjoy my time at home, and getting back in the saddle (I think that's how that phrase goes lol).
I'll be running some awesome deals to kick it off, with very limited space, and I'll be working on the website / messages. Stay tuned! And I'll be working on a new blog post about the ins and outs of my journey to share with anyone that's interested :).
Thanks again for everyone being amazing, I'm glad I'm still alive and learning to be present in life way more because of this amazing second chance.
